Lucky No. 13

sweet nothings design shari fors unique birthday invite pop-up cardI this is only the 4th project but to me it’s lucky no. 13th. This year my Lilly Bean is 13 and I feel so lucky to be a mom to such a great kid! She’s funny, smart, loving and beautiful. For her Birthday this year we’re taking her and some her friends to an indoor trampoline park. I couldn’t really think of a good bouncy theme invite so I just wanted to make a cool invite. I’ve always loved pop-up books and cards so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to take a stab at a pop-up card and voilà! I added confetti and a vellum envelope so you can have a sneak peak at the party before even opening it! If you love it as much as I do, visit my store if you want to order this invite for your next party.

Leather and Chains

Leather chains bracelet sweet nothings design jewelry shari fors DIYLately I’m loving the mix of leather and metal jewelry that’s in right now. So naturally I said to myself I can make that!  I had most of the supplies from other failed jewelry attempts so I used those. You’d think it be super easy but it turned out to be more tedious than I thought, but I did it and I think it turned out cute. I wish I had some funny or witty stories to go along with this project but sadly I do not. So I’ll just tell you a joke…hmmmmmm…I got nothing! Until next week!

Project 2

Project 52 window shade sweet nothings design DIY home decorProject NO. 2 is not particularly glamorous but was much needed! This has been something that I’ve been meaning to do ever since we moved in – 6 years! yikes! Maybe a fact that’s probably best kept to myself. This shade has needed a replacement forever! Those “homicide” stains were not committed by us but by the previous owners. Which makes it even more gross that it’s taken me this long to replace it! To hide the stain I’ve always kept the shade open. A good enough idea if your kitchen doesn’t stare into your neighbor’s kitchen. The last straw was when my husband had the unfortunate experience of witnessing to our neighbor walking through his kitchen butt naked! So for our sake and our neighbors this shade was on the top of my list for Project 52!

PROJECT 52 – Lucky no. 01

Ampersand sweet nothings design stationery kate spade pink ampersand paintingampersand sweet nothings design stationery project 52 kate spade ampersand artDishes are done man! It’s the very first project! And I think it’s a goody! Forever I have coveted the Pink Ampersand Painting that hangs on the walls at Kate Spade stores. It was love at first sight. So for my first project I decided now’s the time that it shall finally be mine or at least a version of it. I’m so happy with how it turned out and think its the perfect addition to our little gallery above our desk.

Until next week peeps – kisses!

Happy New Ideas!

Project 52 sweet nothings design DIY craftsSo I’m back betches! And mama has some big plans for the new year! Of course I have all of the same resolutions as everyone else…lose weight, get healthy, wake up earlier, be kinder, volunteer, clean more, get out of debt and save money. However, I’ve decided not to declare any of those things. Instead I’ve decided to focus my energy on something that I’ve been thinking about for awhile. This year my goal is to complete 1 project per week. Hence the brilliant title Project 52! Ok it’s not brilliant but whatevs. What makes me declare such an ambitious thing? I’m so glad you asked! I have so many ideas that I don’t take the time to actually sit down and complete. Then the ideas are just left swimming around in my head, being sad and uncreated. They want to be created and I’m just the girl to do it. Also I’m tired of saying to myself I can make that! So this year I’m putting my money where my mouth is and doing it!

PS. Do you think I can count this post as project #1? HA! Fine, project #1 coming soon!
